HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita hosted sheva brochos on Sunday night in his home for a daughter of Shas leader Minister Eli Yishai. Among the guests was US Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro, who met privately with the rav ahead of the event. According to reports, the rav sent a number of messages to the US administration, including Shas’ support and continued commitment to “peace process” providing Israel has a viable partner that is equally committed. The rabbi asked the American government to do what is possible towards the release of Jonathan Pollard.
Rabbi Yosef also spoke with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, praising the accomplishments of his administration regarding construction of new homes. He stated that together with [Shas] Minister of Housing Ariel Atias, more homes are being built for Am Yisrael.
Addressing the motzei shabbos Social Justice protests around Israel, which attracted over 400,000 participants, the rav told the prime minister not to worry about the half million or the million, adding his administration is going about addressing social issues in the correct way.

too bad obama was not invited. i think he is the most deserving of ‘the slap’ from rav ovadia! it would do him good.
The sheva brachos was actually NOT held at the Rabbi’s house, but at Yeshivat Lev Aharon, across the street, at 34 HaKablan, a sephardi yeshiva for American students.

Is there a hidden PARTNER that we are not aware of? For the last 65 years there has been NO partner for peace/security etc., the Shas party has to abandon its peace fantasy.
