Amos Gilad, who stands at the helm of the Political-Security Division of the Ministry of Defense on Tuesday morning addressed reports of the heightened military alert status along the Egyptian and Gazan borders, due to terror threats in that region.
Gilad, a retired IDF major-general, spoke of a ‘hot alert’, a credible warning of imminent plans to perpetrate a major terror attack in that area. Speaking to Army Radio on Tuesday morning, he added the intelligence report confirm terrorist wish to “murder Israelis just because they are Israelis”.
On Monday, YWN Israel reported that IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz ordered an increase in troop deployments along those borders in response to the intelligence community warnings.
