This past Shabbos morning, there was a break in to Rav Ingber’s Shul (Birchas Yaakov) – which is located on Martin Luther King Drive. The thief attempted to steal the main safe which housed the Sifrei Torah. Boruch Hashem they were not successful because the Aron Kodesh was built around the safe. The wood surrounding the safe was found to be all smashed from the unsuccessful attempts.
The thief was unfortunately successful in stealing a second, smaller safe which had a Megilla and Neviim written on Klaf. The reason it was stolen, was due to the fact that the smaller safe “WAS NOT SECURED TO THE GROUND. In fact, the entire safe was removed from the Shul.
This should be taken as a wake-up call to the many small Shuls in Lakewood – and across the globe – to properly secure their safes to the ground.
If anyone has any information regarding the incident, please call 732-278-8598.

As far as I know a safe weighs an awful lot. How would they have gotten the safe out even without the Aron Hakodesh surrounding it?
basmelech – The same way they got it in. A lot of shlepping and grunting.
Article not clear,
This happened shabbos morning? When!? What are they gonna do with a sefer torah!?
Sell it on the “hot” market. The same thing that might have happened to those mezuzos last week or 2
I guess you could say this should have been a SAFER Torah.
This is vers scary for all other shuls in lakewood makse sure you lock up all the shuls and that the Safes are bolted in to the wall
it seems that they took one smaller safe with klaf nach one brand new other older
THE PERPS ARENT AWARE OF THE CONTENTS BUT SINCE WHAT EVER IT IS IS IN A SAFE IT MUST BE WORTH LOTS OF $$ HENCE THEIR EFFORTS USED TO REMOVE IT
AS SOON AS THEY FIND OUT WHATS INSIDE THEYLL DISCARD IT AS THE PERP WHO DUMPED 200 K WORTH OF MEZUZOS INTO THE LAKE 2 WEEKS AGO THEY WENT AFTER SMALL CHANGE AND MONEY OBVIOUSLY IN NEED OF $$ FOR DRUGS
