The trial of the three man accused of vandalizing the Jewish cemetery of Herrlisheim, in eastern France, where 117 tombstones had been painted with neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic slogans in 2004, opened Monday at a criminal court in Colmar. The three defendants acknowledged the acts even if uncertainties remain on the role of each of them, and they risk a maximum 5-year prison term and a penalty of 75,000 euros. The trial is expected to last until next Wednesday.
