1. “A blog coming out of Williamsburg”

   Wonder who that is. Maybe the Shamash should start cleaning his house.

2. Keep in mind that Cunliffe has an issue with this whole story because his daughter was one of the police officers who was at the scene and acted bias towards Rabbi Zimmerman. She lied in the court proceedings when she was asked her if she called the accuser “sweetie” in the car on the way to the police station and she answered no. Then Rabbi Zimmerman’s lawyer played the recording that is in the police car and everybody was able to hear her calling the accuser “sweetie”

3. This is a sensitive issue, but, unfortunately, a timely one.

   Did Mr. Cunliffe ever affress the atrocious racism of the black community? I cannot even begin to count the amount of times an African American would yell, “Heil Hitler” at me in Lakewood. Where was he then? Can the advocacy of the mass murder of all Jews be compared to the use of the vile “N” word? Of course now. Where was Mr. Cunliffe when that happened? Where is his outrage?

   The enormous hatred that the black community has toward Jews is palpable and goes beyond anything I have ever witnessed in any other community. Jewish boys do not talk badly about black people, rasicm and bigotry are derailed as evil, and those who speak badly about other rces are derided if not deplored for their behavior. Yet black leaders–Jesse Jackson, Louis Farakhan. Al Sharpton, Malcom X, and many more–have said and written the most contemptuous, vile slurs about the Jewish people imaginable, with impunity.

   If one were to write that race specialists who have made certain pronouncements about the African American community were correct–be it their intelligence, ambition, work ethic, who knows, Mr. Cunliffe would have gone mad. But hey, all the rancor and vindivtiveness was harbored toward Jews. Hitler, the murderer of millions of innocent Jewish men, women and children, they write, was correct. (And this is something they write only when it is not in their better interest to deny the whole thing!). The world is waiting for a response from the Cunliffes out there. I am waiting for the response of those indingnant about the so called racism of the Jewish people (as though Jews have ever encouraged the murder, or murdered, any non-Jew of any kind!!! Do we have to go through history again?) and remain quiet about the racism of other toward the Jewish people.

   Don’t think their being quiet means nothing. Its not just that they don’t care about the lives and dignity of the Jewish people. Its more than that. They want the Jews to be degraded and humiliated. And those who let others say that Hitler was right, in the final analysis, probably believe that to be correct.

   They are the racists. And they are worthy of all the contempt befitting such a title.

   The strange phenomenon of black anti-Semitism

   Anti-Semitism in America, according to a survey commissioned by the Anti-Defamation League, stands at an all-time low. But alarmingly, the survey found blacks three to four times more likely than non-blacks to be anti-Semitic.

   Black Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., urges America to rethink its support of Israel. Reverend Jesse Jackson, who once called Jews “Hymie” and New York City “Hymie-town,” now demands that George Bush ensure the safety of Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat.

   Jackson’s acolyte, Al Sharpton, once referred to Jews as “diamond merchants.” In 1991, Sharpton turned the death of a black child in a traffic accident in Brooklyn, involving a Hasidic Jew, into a racial incident. Sharpton led 400 protesters through the Jewish section of Crown Heights. There were four nights of rock- and bottle-throwing, and a young Talmudic scholar was surrounded by a mob shouting, “Kill the Jew,” and was stabbed to death.

   The Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan recently likened the “plight” of black Americans to that of the Palestinians, noting blacks “were in the same position.” Farrakhan also exaggerates the Jewish role in slavery, and once called Hitler a “great man” and Judaism a “gutter religion.”

   Black Fox News analyst Juan Williams criticizes Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for behaving like a “bull in a china shop.” Former Harvard professor Cornel West criticized his Harvard president and called him the “Ariel Sharon of higher education,” saying, “he struck me very much as a bull in a china shop.”

   In the Palestinian-Israeli dispute, there is a bewildering failure on the part of many people, especially blacks, to differentiate firefighter from arsonist. Given the tremendous historical Jewish support for blacks, this insensitivity toward Jews and Israel suggests ignorance and lack of gratitude.

   Fact: Jews helped to fund Booker T. Washington’s Tuskegee Institute. Washington asked Julius Rosenwald – a Jewish trustee of Tuskegee – to help, not only with higher education, but also with Southern black elementary schools. Rosenwald funded the building of 5,300 black schools across the South.

   Fact: The black monthly magazine Emerge asked people to assess the following statements: Do blacks complain about racism? Do blacks stick to themselves? Do blacks prefer welfare? Are blacks less ambitious, too loud and pushy, not as hardworking, not as honest, have too much power in the U.S.? In every case, Jews were the least likely of any group to answer “true” to those statements. Jews showed less racism toward blacks than any other group.

   Fact: In 1984-85 and 1991, Israel airlifted 20,000 black Ethiopian Jews from persecution and famine in Africa.

   Fact: During the 1960s, many white Northerners worked as “freedom fighters,” risking their lives to come to the South and encourage blacks to vote. In 1964, of those whites who went to Mississippi to register blacks to vote, three-quarters were Jews.

   Fact: Unlike any other group in America, as Jews become more affluent they do not leave the allegedly “pro-minority” Democratic Party and defect to the “pro-wealthy” Republicans. So despite the growing wealth of Jews and the high-tax policies of Democrats, Jews remain in the party out of a sense of empathy, sensitivity and compassion for those less fortunate.

   Fact: Jack Greenberg, a Jewish lawyer, was an important legal strategist in helping the NAACP in Thurgood Marshall’s Brown v. Board of Education case, which struck down the doctrine of separate but equal. (When Greenberg tried to teach a civil rights course at Harvard, students protested, arguing a black man should teach the course!)

   Fact: 30 percent of Muslims in America today are black, some embracing the religion in order to reject “Western Civilization, culture and religion.” Many blacks also give their kids Arabic-sounding names. But most blacks don’t know that Arab slavers brought more slaves to South America and to the Middle East than European slavers brought to North America. In “Conquests and Cultures,” Thomas Sowell writes, “By the time the Europeans discovered the Western Hemisphere at the end of the 15th century, Muslim merchants already dominated the slave trade in West Africa, as they did in East Africa and North Africa. The Islamic jihads of the 18th and 19th centuries created new Muslim states in West Africa, which in turn promoted enslavement on a larger scale. Altogether, between 1650 and 1850, at least 5 million slaves were shipped from West Africa alone.” And while slavery ended in the West, says Sowell, “In some Islamic countries in Africa and the Middle East, slavery lasted even longer. Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, and Sudan continued to hold slaves on past the middle of the 20th century.”

   Fact: When Sidney Poitier accepted his honorary award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, he rattled off a list of persons who stuck their necks out for his career, many of whom were Jews.

   So, to America’s “black leaders,” care to reconsider?

5. YeshivishB, be careful about exaggerating because no matter how truthful your points may be, the exaggeration will weaken your whole argument. That tape was never played in court, period. In fact, the only time a tape was played was for the judge to hear the assailant talking to his friend on the phone, and that was only after the judge turned OFF his microphone so that the tape would not be heard publicly.

6. If the N word came out of Williamsburg, why should that boil over in this town?

   Besides, its pretty ironic that Mr. Cunliffe should be so concerned about racsim and bias, considering the fact the he is well known for and has long proven his and his families affinity (NOT!) for us in this town.

7. It is high time that ‘blog out of Williamsburg’ is outed for who he is. Enough of him hiding behind his anonymity in spreading pure sheker and loshon hora. And allowing outrageous comments attacking Yidden.

   I’d like to see someone publicize who he is, so he can no longer blatantly do this behind a veil. If the public knows who it is, maybe he will get a little busha before doing all this.

   Enough is enough.

Interesting that YW is so concerned about the “N” word being used on this site, but has no problem with the “vile” comments being direcyted at Gedoilei Yisroel simply because they do not “agree” with their point of view. YW should be more concerned about what Hashem says about allowing some of these comments against Gedolei Yisroel to be posted, rather than be concerned with what Mr. Cunliffe thinks

10. OPEN LETTER TO MR. CUNLIFFE
    Mr. Cunliffe – if you’re reading these “yeshiva” blogs it puts many questions (and perhaps even answers) about your position as committeeman.

    #1 – you seem to have much time on your hands to read hundreds of posting from various yeshiva blogs. I find it hard to believe your doing this on your own time, but rather on taxpayer time

    #2 – you seem to have an AGENDA, by monitoring what is said on these blogs. Do you monitor the Spanish, Mexican, Latino, African-American, and other blogs too? These people also live in YOUR town (some may even be here illegally – what have you done about that?).

    #3 – are you afraid that we know the truth about your felling towards Jews (especially orthodox Jews) and are keeping an eye on these blogs to make sure your true colors don’t appear on the word-wide-web?

    #4 – are you concerned that people may comment on nepotism and corruption you try to hide?

    #5 – are you concerned that the RECALL CUNLIFFE campaign might reignite, pushing you and your family out of power?

    #6 – are you fearing too many Jews are moving into YOUR neighborhood, and suspect you on calling in ‘your people’ to make their lives miserable by ‘fine tooth combing’ them for any possible violation you can pin on them.

12. i think YW should find out the facts before bending over to appologize to mr cunliffe (and just because mr cunliffe finds something offensive=aka against him or daughter is no reason to assure him it will be removed from YW) who is very known to the yeshiva community only too well
    and as posted above his daughter was one of the officers involved and in fact purjerd her self in court

13. It’s strange that Mr. Cunliffe would speak out on this case. His arrogant daughter disgraced herself as well as her father as she was the main instigator in this whole affair. Her smug attitude was blatant for all to see and there was no sweeter moment at the trial then her “sweetie remark”…..Both of them are a disgrace to the Lakewood community.

14. I find it incredible that a man is found NOT GUILTY, yet an elected public official can condemn his actions. How exactly should he have kept him there until police arrived? or should he have just let him go?

    I also find it ironic that Cunliffe gives a 5 minute speech, READING the comments in public, potentially inciting those who wouldn’t have otherwise seen the comments, and then says he’s concerned about this blowing up! If he’s concerned, let him NOT read quotes and keep it general.

    also, let this be a lesson in being very careful not to make a chillul H-Shem in ANY forum.

17. It is interesting how while complaining about lashon harah someone speaks just that about a different site. Then it gets posted by a site like this one which is usually so careful. Goes to show how negius can effect anyone.
