The NYPD is taking extra steps to protect the NYC’s Jewish community from terrorism during the upcoming Yomim Tovim. NY1 reports that NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said Wednesday that there is no reason to believe an attack is in the works, but they are stepping up police presence to be prepared, as they have in years past.
Extra officers will be on patrol in Jewish neighborhoods and around synagogues. The NYPD is also heightening community outreach and deploying special operation units.
