The Asbury Park Press is reporting that a passenger in a taxi was grazed by a bullet on Wednesday night as they were heading down Pine Street (near the Pine River Development). According to Lakewood Police detectives, the cab was driving eastbound when another car drove onto the shoulder next to the car and began to fire multiple rounds into the taxi.
One 24-year-old man’s arm was grazed by a bullet, but detectives believe that the intended victims were actually the other passengers in the cab.
Police said they are looking for a four-door silver or gray newer model, compact to mid-size car that is in relatively decent shape. It may be a Toyota Camry or a similar vehicle, and they believe it was occupied by at least five males.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.
