  1. Will Sruly be singing at the Rudy Innauguration? R’Moshe Sherer Z”L spoke at the Mayor Rudy one….Sruly singing at the Prsidents one……that would be interesting!!

  2. Why do you introduce Mr Giuliani as a future president? IY”H he will not make it past the primaries. As we do not need another fascist in the White House

  3. It is a little presumptuous and unprofessional for a news site to call a candidate “future president” when he is not even the favorite, and so early in the game.

    Interesting story, regardless.

  4. Rudy is very strong where it counts – terror. He is the front runner, and we could do a lot worse. ANY of the Democrats would be a disaster by comparison. If you doubt me, just go to the DailyKos web site and look at what they say about Jews.

  5. It seems that many of the comments have a problem with the “future president” part of the website. I actually was more bothered by the “International Singing Sensation” part. That’s pushing it a little.

    Go Rudy!

  6. O.K. this is for all the ameratzim out there:

    a. he is not a left winger! just because he is not on the radical right, don’t make him a leftist (and believe me I can smell a leftist a mile a way)

    b. Chakira I dont know where you get off saying he is a facist! The last time I checked a facist is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and other societal interests subordinate to the needs of the state, and seeks to forge a type of national unity, usually based on, but not limited to, ethnic, cultural, or racial attributes. Um, maybe it’s just me but this sounds a heck of a lot more like the Democrats. (Little hint: dont just repeat all the garbage you hear on the VLWC talk shows, it makes you sound ignorant.)

    c. Hakatan while I agree we shouldn’t make an ayin harah and call him the future president just yet, he IS the Republican favorite. Although I did like Romney until he started singing another tune (a la flip flop). (Besides the fact that I still think Newt Gingrich would make a great president.)

  7. #3, #4 and others like you. Whom would YOU pick as president?

Giuliani would be great for the U.S. *AND* for Israel. He’d even put Israel’s weak PM Olmert and his cronies in place.

  8. did he sing Rudy’s favorite ydiish song “arbit mit frie”? which is what he wrote on the board in a room when he was interagating an elderly holocost surviver?

  9. He is as left-wing as it gets.

He supports marriage for the chazeirim.
He is pro-abortion (i.e. killing the unborn.)
    He supports the welfare state.
He is more socially liberal than many Democrats.

And to top it off he cheated on every one of his marriages.

  10. Yavnerd, Like Romney, Rudy was also “officially” far more in left field before he ran for President.

I would never believe a politico who changes his position, as Rudy and Romney have, for their Presedential runs.

Gingrich or Thompson would be great Presidents.

  11. If only we had Sruli Williger for President, all our problems would disappear. SRULI ’08(Paid for by friends of Sruli W 08)

  12. The Jewish Community, wether it is Brooklyn, Monsey, or Teaneck, need to support Rudy to be the next President. Terror is the most important issue facing our country…wake up! His personal life…who cares? Not my business, not yours, but terror affects us all…

He is the greatest supporter of Israel, and that too must be on the top of our list..Not Hillary who kisses Suhah Arafat – remember? We need to help Israel, not Condi Rice, not Barak who hasn’t a clue about anything current, and Romney, who really knows what he stands for. Rudy, we know, and we should greatly support him, or we will unfortunately, regret it.

  13. Read this from the Jerusalem Post…
For those of you who question Rudy’s integrity..this is another feather in his hat!

US Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani said he opposes creation of a Palestinian state at this time and would take a tough stand with Iran, including destroying its nuclear infrastructure “should all else fail.”

Outlining his foreign policy views in the September/October issue of Foreign Affairs magazine, Giuliani said “too much emphasis” has been placed on brokering negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians – an apparent swipe at President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who have been pushing both sides for final status negotiations despite Hamas’s takeover of Gaza in June.

“It is not in the interest of the United States, at a time when it is being threatened by Islamist terrorists, to assist the creation of another state that will support terrorism,” the former New York City mayor said.

“Palestinian statehood will have to be earned through sustained good governance, a clear commitment to fighting terrorism, and a willingness to live in peace with Israel,” Giuliani said. “America’s commitment to Israel’s security is a permanent feature of our foreign policy.”

  14. Here is an article for the Guardian newspaper someone sent me:

A leading Republican presidential candidate, Rudy Giuliani, has declared he is against the creation of a Palestinian state at present because it would “support terrorism” and endanger US security.

He underscored his uncompromising approach to foreign policy by adding he would be prepared to destroy Iran’s nuclear plants “should all else fail”.

In an interview with Foreign Affairs magazine, Mr Giuliani said “too much emphasis” had been placed on promoting negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

    Article continues
The US president, George Bush, has said he supports a two-state solution and leaders of Israel and the Palestinians met last week to discuss “fundamental issues” ahead of the creation of a Palestinian state.

However, the former New York mayor said: “It is not in the interest of the United States, at a time when it is being threatened by Islamist terrorists, to assist the creation of another state that will support terrorism.

“Palestinian statehood will have to be earned through sustained good governance, a clear commitment to fighting terrorism, and a willingness to live in peace with Israel.”

He added: “America’s commitment to Israel’s security is a permanent feature of our foreign policy.”

Mr Giuliani said that while he would not rule out negotiating with Iran over its nuclear programme – which Tehran maintains is solely for energy needs – such negotiations should proceed from “a position of strength”.

“The theocrats ruling Iran need to understand that we can wield the stick as well as the carrot, by undermining popular support for their regime, damaging the Iranian economy, weakening Iran’s military and, should all else fail, destroying its nuclear infrastructure,” he warned.

As mayor of New York, which has a large Jewish community, Mr Giuliani repeatedly spoke out against the creation of a Palestinian state and was a staunch critic of the late Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat.

In 1995 he barred Mr Arafat from city-sponsored events held to celebrate the United Nations’ 50th anniversary. He even ordered Mr Arafat be removed when he appeared at a Lincoln Centre concert.

Mr Giuliani is one of the frontrunners – along with Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson – to secure the Republican nomination to fight the 2008 presidential election.

  15. So now that Rudy (conditionally) supports a Palestinian State it is okay? Previously we were against anyone that even hinted they would support a Palestinian State under ANY circumstances!

Make no mistake about it. Rudy and other candidates position on statehood is for campaign purposes only. Once elected they will all do the same thing regardless of their promises and/or commitments made during their campaigns for the Presidency.

Don’t bank on a left-wing hypocrite like Giuliani.

  16. Hillary would trounce Rudy. A fake Republican cannot defeat a real Democrat.

You need a real Republican, a true conservative and not an abortionist pro-feigele marriage candidate, for any chance to defeat the Democrats.

  17. Talk, BTW, is talk, but I do remember, now, since a previous commenter brought it up, how Guiliani refused to allow Arafat into NYC, and, IIRC, gave back that Saudi prince’s $10,000,000 when he intimated that 9/11 happened due to America’s friendship with Israel.

So, politicians can and will say what suits them, but those two incidents are pretty telling, IMO.

Also, as Rabbi CD Zweibel, Esq. (I think it was him) wrote a few months back, the abortion question is best decided by Rabbis, not politicians, as the issue is not a simple clear-cut case.

  18. Hashem rules the world. The politicians are just tools. We do not put our hope in the leaders of our countries, but only in H’,remember that. To call a singer who records for money (parnosso) a ‘sensation’,is like avoda zoro! We can respect him and call him” talented” The headline of this blog seems too non-Torah Jewish,to me. Politicians will never make all our concerns his,Whoever becomes President, will also have to deal with Congress. We most definitely need someone who is strong and means what he says.

  19. HaKatan,

we are not talking about abortion when a mothers life is at risk. We are talking about the millions and millions of abortion-on-demand performed around the country, that Giuliani supports (in addition to his support of “marriage” for the perverts.)

It is clear-cut that abortion as such is illegal and immoral.

  20. Joseph- I don’t believe what you said about Rudy being more left, before he ran, is factual. I think most people had a perception of what he was. Prior to his running his social agenda was never really paid attention to.

While he may be socially more left, that is what America needs right now, someone who is in the middle and not so polar either way (which is half the problem on the Hill)

Volvie- I don’t see what his cheating has to do with his presidency. William (BJ) Clinton seemed to have been a smashing success even though he cheated in THE OVAL OFFICE – kodesh hakdashim – lehavdil alfei avdolos.

Moe- that is 100% inaccurate! I watched the debates where he was specifically asked, If you had the power to revoke Roe V. Wade would you? and he said that if that is what congress and the supreme court wants he would do it.

Joseph- I have a good book for you called “A Deficit Of Decency” by Zell Miller (spitball speech). It’s a great read, I highly recommend it.

  21. Yavnerd, he has been trying to portray himself as more conservative than he actually is, since his Presidential run began. In fact he was even hedging on his position supporting abortion-on-demand until that blew up in his face angering conservatives about his truthfulness.

America does not need an abortionist in the White House. There is no doubt that once safely elected he will have no compunctions appointing abortionists to the Supreme Court, despite all his hot-air campaign promises (where he never promised to appoint pro-life judges, in any event.)

Clinton is the worst example to look towards how a President should behave. He was perhaps our worst president in history. And we don’t need another cheater.

    Thanks for your reading suggestion.

  22. Joseph, being strong on defence and terror is the primary concern in todays election. At this juncture being able to defeat the islamists should be our focus and social issues are secondary.

  23. mike, I must strongly defer. The murder of the unborn children cannot be disregarded.

Any of the major Republican candidates are very strong on defense and anti-terror.

  24. Joseph, I’m sorry but that is not factually correct, Ron Paul is against the war. (Who is he? the Dennis Kucinich of the Republican party- If you catch my drift)

  25. Yavnerd, Reread my comment, and notice I said Any of the major Republican candidates are very strong on defense and anti-terror.

Ron Paul is not a candidate with any serious prospects of winning the nomination.

  26. I hear you, I opologize. BTW Ron Paul has a following, it’s just that no NORMAL people would vote for him.

You know what’s shocking? McCain is pro the Iraq war.

  27. I don’t find that shocking. He, to his credit, has been the most consistent on that particular issue (as much as I don’t like him in general.)

Personally, from the potential (including undeclared) candidates I like Thompson and Gingrich.
