Politico is reporting that former President George W. Bush has turned down President Barack Obama’s invitation to join him at ground zero on Thursday, citing his desire to avoid the media glare.
“President Bush appreciated the invite, but has chosen in his post-presidency to remain largely out of the spotlight,” Bush spokesman David Sherzer told POLITICO in an email Tuesday night. “He continues to celebrate with all Americans this important victory in the war on terror.”
Obama — who has sharply criticized Bush for neglecting the hunt for bin Laden by invading Iraq — made the offer to Bush shortly after he decided on his New York trip, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Obama will travel to the site of the World Trade Center attacks of Sept. 11 in the days following the killing of Osama bin Laden in a U.S. special forces operation in Pakistan. He will meet with families of Sept. 11 victims.
Obama last went to ground zero in 2008.

Pres. Bush is a true class act.
Maybe Bush is waiting for some concrete evidence that Osama is really dead…?
2.
Or he is waiting for Obama to publicly apologize to him for trashing him for the last 3 years blaming everything bad on Bush. W is right for staying away from the Bamster.
President Bush has said that he hated it when President Carter would make statements against him while he was President and try to get attention and so Pres Bush decided that he would never try to mess with his successor’s presidency.
He is “embarrassed”of the obamination
First let Obama give the credit for the capture to the man who initiated the hunt instead of glory basking.
Good for Mr. Bush, it is amazing President Obama does nothing for 3 years until his pole numbers nose dive and he starts his re-election campaign.
He just wants Mr. Bush to presence to help him in the poles even more. Obama could care less about 9-11, he is one of those moslems that celebrated 9-11 and Nakba.
