According to the NY Post, Life-insurance companies have been denying coverage to customers solely because they have visited Israel or plan to go in the future – outraging travelers who say Israel’s historic sites are as safe as any American city, officials say.
The practice has become so widespread that nine states, including New York, have tried to stop it.
But insurance companies continue to block coverage, and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) introduced legislation last week prohibiting insurers from blocking coverage and requiring them to rely on accurate information.
“It is just unfair for people to be denied life insurance because they might travel to Israel,” said Schumer.
John Hancock, and AIG are part of the insurance companies denying coverage.

ON THE SAME TOKEN PEOPLE WHO FLY, RIDE IN A CAR SHOULD ALSO BE DENIED COVERAGE. ARENT THEY A “PLACE OF DANGER” TOO ? SINCE WHEN IS THE STATE OF ISRAEL CONSIDERED A TERRORIST STATE ? DO PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR THE U.S. ARMY GET DENIED TOO ? THEY MUST SOMETIMES GO TO “REAL” TERRORIST STATES!! GIVE US A LIT OF THESE INSURANCE COMPANIES WE SHOULD ALL BOYCOTT THEIR SERVICES .
This is covert Anti-Semitism at it’s worst.
WHY IS IT ALWAYS CONSIDERED ANTI-SEMITISM—SOME MIGHT CALL IT A GOOD BUSINESS DECISION. NOT THAT I WOULD BUT MOST CEO’S WOULD.
Vote with your dollars, people. Just move your insurance coverage to an insurance company that WILL cover you.
