(Click on images to ENLARGE them) The Kever of Harav Yeruchom Levovitz Zatzal, famed Mirrer Mashgiach (niftar Sivan 1936) in the town of Mir, Belarus has recently been vandalized. The Kever which has been rediscovered and rebuilt around 1990 by the Mashgiach’s son and grandchildren, has become a standard stop on the itinerary of thousands of Yidden from around the world who have in recent years begun visiting pre-war Europe to visit Kivrei Tzadikim and other Mkomos Kedoshim.
Tens of thousands of dollars have been invested in the cemetery in Mir over the past 15 years to help keep the sacred grounds in a decent manner of Kovod for the many holy Yidden (many of them Neherag Al Kiddush Hashem) laying there. Anyone who may have information regarding this act of vandalism, please contact [email protected] or Yeshivaworld immediately.

I heard that this happened almost 2 weeks ago. They used to have a watchman there, but the funds are running low to keep him there.
This is so sad. He was such a great man. I would love to go to to Europe and visit Kivrei tzadikim. YW, perhaps you should start a new feature on Yahrtzeits of big Tzadikim topost a biography and some stories about them.
