The Orthodox Jewish Community was on edge after the stabbing of an 18-year-old Yeshiva Bochur this past Saturday night, and then false rumors of another stabbing two days later. Although residents should be concerned, the NYPD is giving this incident all the resources they possibly can.
The stabbing, first reported by FlatbushScoop.com moments after the incident, occurred on Avenue K and east 33rd Street. A black male reportedly asked the boy for the time, and then his money. When he answered that he had neither his watch or a wallet, the suspect stabbed him in the abdomen. He was transported to Maimonides Hospital by Hatzolah in stable condition and has since been released.
Naturally, and rightfully so, the community was concerned, since this type of crime is not heard of in the neighborhood. We decided to reach out to our sources in the NYPD to see what was being done.
For starters, Officers from the NYPD’s 63 Precinct were on the scene before the Flatbush Hatzolah Ambulance even arrived. Officers were getting a description of the suspect, and other vital information from the victim in just minutes. Additional police backup was dispatched, and a search was launched for the suspect. Detectives began interviewing the victim in the hospital to gather additional information.
Brooklyn South Chief Joseph Fox, whose name needs no introduction on this website, gave it his all, and was personally on the phone until past 2:00AM on a Saturday night. The Commanding Officer of the 63rd Precinct, Captain Michael Deddo reassigned additional police cruisers to patrol the area, and even had an officer drive home the siblings of the victim from the hospital. The Community Affairs Division of Brooklyn South, under the guidance of Lieutenant Jimmy Woods, and Sergent Yitzy Jablon, have worked for the past 3 days on this incident.

There was not a stabbing but there was another mugging and that is true as it was my friends who were mugged.
