The North Miami Beach Community Kollel is extremely pleased and excited to announce that Rabbi Tzvi Eliyohu Meir Schmelczer, former Rosh Mechina of the Mechina of South Florida for the past nine years, has agreed to now serve as the full-time Rosh Kollel of our community Kollel.
Rabbi Schmelczer developed the Mechina from its start to 90 current talmidim of the highest caliber, and established the Mechina as a premier Makom Torah. Rabbi Schmelczer has gained much renown as a very successful “M’chanech” whose advice on Inyonai Chinuch is frequently sought.
Previously, Rabbi Schmelczer served as Maggid Shiur at Yeshivah Gedola of Montreal and learned in the Kollel Kesser Torah Radumsk in Montreal.
Earlier, Rabbi Schmelczer was invited to become a founding member of the Birchas Shmuel Kollel in Mexico City, where he had a great impact on the Mexican Jewish community.
Rabbi Schmelczer studied in Yeshivas Brisk in Yerushalayim under HaRav Avrohom Yehoshua Soloveitchik, Shlita, and obtained his Smicha from there and Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago.
Rabbi Schmelczer is the son-in-law of HaRav Mordechai Shapiro zt”l of Miami Beach and TBL”C Rebbetzin Barbara Shapiro.

I never heard of ANYONE getting Smicha from The Brisker Rosh Yeshiva!

He is a son of the late Rav Chaim Schmelczer ztz”l of Chicago; brother of Rabbis Moshe and Shmuel Schmelczer presently of Chicago.
