A 14-year-old Monsey boy has been charged with juvenile delinquency for falsely reporting five fires and two bombs to Yeshiva Ner Hatorah, which is located at 65 College Road in Monsey. The boy was a former student of the school. If he had been an adult he would have been charged with seven counts of falsely reporting an incident, a felony.
Police are not reveling the identity of the boy, and he will have to appear before Rockland County Family Court at a later date.

He needs to report to a child psychologist, not to a family court.
Not necessarily. To a child, the line between a practical joke and a serious misuse of free speech is probably none too clear. (Perhaps some here will know of the story of “the boy who cried wolf” and understand that it is not obvious to every child before learning this lesson).
In this case it might be enough to make him appear before a judge if that will make him understand the enormity of his offense. If that doesn’t get through, then you can suggest he seek mental help.
He’s lucky he didn’t try standing outside Chevron dressed like a terrorist.
The line must become clear at some point.
His parents may need guidance into how to bring up a son in a Torah way. How about the Rov of their shul> helping? Is he a “kid-at -risk”?
