Two People Mugged in Mt. Hebron Cemetery (Queens)

yw logo.jpgCharges are pending against a man who attacked and mugged two people with a shovel in a Queens Bais Hakvaros on Sunday afternoon. It happened at approximately 3:30PM inside the Mount Hebron Cemetery in Flushing. Police say the suspect approached a 38-year-old man, and a 64-year-old woman, and struck the man with a shovel, then robbed both of them before running across the Van Wyck Expressway and into Flushing Meadows Park. Police found him hiding in the weeds and arrested him.

  1. Oh my! That bais hachayim is in the open. It’s visible from everywhere. Yet this happened in the daytime! My zeide a”h is buried there, and I am planning on visiting it some Sunday this summer

  2. While it is visible in the day time, once one is in, it is very difficult to know who else is in any particular section, particularly as one goes deeper in to the Beis HaKevaros.
