Continental Airlines Makes Emergency landing At Newark

A Continental Airlines flight was forced to land five minutes following take-off from Newark Liberty Airport Wednesday after the plane’s cabin filled with smoke.

The pilot of Flight 1626, which was bound for San Diego, told the passengers on board that the incident was related to the de-icing procedures used before the 8:42am ET take-off.

Light snow was reported at Newark, with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark.

No injuries were reported.
