Hothead state Sen. Kevin Parker’s conviction on two misdemeanor charges has cost him his leadership post, the Daily News has learned.
The Brooklyn Democrat had been the Democratic conference’s whip the past two years.
Senate Democratic Minority Leader John Sampson opted Monday to yank Parker out of the position, sources said.
“He decided he couldn’t let the conviction stand without taking action,” said a source close to Sampson.
Parker, who did not return a call for comment, was said to be not pleased. The move will cost Parker $5,500 in perk pay.
Parker, whose base salary is $79,500, was found guilty of two counts of criminal mischief last month for a scuffle with a news photographer. He had been facing a felony assault charge.
Parker, 42, faces up to two years in the slammer. He’s set to be sentenced Jan. 27.
