8:30PM EST: The news website MotherJones.com has conducted an exclusive interview with Bryce Tierney, who is an old and close friend of Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged gunman in Arizona. The interview sheds light on Loughner, and Tierney paints a picture of a friend who became mentally unstable. To show how close of a friend this individual was:
Loughner actually phoned Tierney at 2:00AM on Saturday – just a few hours before the massacre which left six people dead, and 14 wounded – including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).
Tierney, was up late watching TV, but he didn’t answer the call. When he later checked his voice mail, he heard a simple message from Loughner: “Hey man, it’s Jared. Me and you had good times. Peace out. Later.”
In the interview Tierney says the following interesting tidbit about Loughner:
Tierney believes that Loughner was very interested in pushing people’s buttons—and that may have been why he listed Hitler’s Mein Kampf as one of his favorite books on his YouTube page. (Loughner’s mom is Jewish, according to Tierney.)
Loughner having a Jewish mother, would make him Jewish.
YWN has been unable to confirm this statement by Tierney.
