A toddler is in critical condition after getting hit by a car in Williamsburg on Tuesday tonight.
The child was reportedly in a stroller being pushed by a 12-year-old sibling, when the stroller was struck. NYPD sources tell YWN that the children were in the crosswalk on a green light, when a 15 passenger van (who also had a green light) made a right turn, and struck them. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping, leaving the child in critical condition R”L.
Williamsburg Hatzolah Paramedics transported the child to Bellevue Trauma Center in Manhattan, and the NYPD along with Williamsburg Shomrim Volunteers searched the area for the vehicle – which is reported to be a white commercial type van.
Please contact the NYPD or Shomrim if you have any information which can assist the investigation.

Nebech, Hashem yerachem, I believe the information is that PD is looking for a white 15 passenger type van with side windows, NJ plate # XU584U. Refuah Sheleima bimheira.
How is it possible that they both had a green light if the van made a right turn? Broken traffic light? Confused witnesses? Or perhaps you mean the kid wheeling the stroller had a white go might on the crossing signal?
GRAMMAR ERROR CORRECTED

wats with 12 yr old? is she ok?
It is very posible that they both had agreen light. They shud chang that it shud not be at thesame time there aare to many accidents lately. May hashem send him a refuah shelaima.
Yes, i agree with Tzirel that they may have both had the green light. A driver knows the pedestrian has the right of way but that rule is totaly ignored. While crossing yesterday i had two frum drivers who very easily went through red while i was getting ready to cross. Oh, yes, they both were on the cell phones.
Another issue is, when crossing with carriages, very often the carriage may be off the curb while the person pushing is on the curb. A driver making a sharp turn who may have “blind spot” will not see this.
I already posted this that i watched a person being run over by a bus while waiting off the curb.
GREAT NEWS: the infant is b”h in stable cond. after going thru sugary for a internal bleeding that was b”h stopped successfully @ Belevue Hospital
RE: HNBY QUESTION! ITS VERY SIMPLE CAUSE IF THE AVE. IS GREEN FOR TRAFFIC THEN THE STREET IS GREEN FOR THE CROSSWALK SO IF THE GUY MADE A RIGHT TURN HE SHOULD OF WATCHED IF SOMEONE IS CROSSING!
Here is how both had the green light. Car is travelling North on Bedford Ave and wants to turn right unto Rutledge. Pedestrians have the same green light if they are walking on Bedford and crossing Rutledge to the other side of Bedford.
B”H The child is doing well. Refuah Shalamah!!!!!
