[FIRST REPORT] All Tuesday morning, YWN has been receiving dozens of emails that the NYC 311 system is down. YWN began trying to call that number at 6:30AM. It is now 8:45, and we have yet to get through.
People who have been trying to call 311 either recieved a fast busy signal, and then a dead line, or just a dead line.
The above below explains it all.

#2-does “true” mean “through”? still busy when I try!
#4 yes i spoke to an agent over the phone
“The above below” ? Don’t you mean “The video below” ?
As of 10:50 tuesday morning my block, and all the blocks around have still not been plowed. (east teens between K and L)
11:22-my street and surrounding streets weren’t touched-and no1 is drivin on them…so besides 4 a few footsteps…its new snow-about 15 inches…what a city!!!!!
I tried to log a service request for snow removal on the city’s 311 website. It says:
The City has launched a winter snow storm operation to remove snow or ice from highways, roadways and streets. Because the City is engaged in a winter storm operation, it cannot respond to individual plowing or spreading requests. Your report of a snowy or icy roadway will be collected and used to provide an overview of the storm situation.
However when I tried to submit my request I got the following error:
Due to technical difficulties, your Service Request could not be submitted. Please try again later.
How convenient!
I heard that sanitation workers union is doing this in order to avert further layoffs and restore the workers who were laid off.
12;28 pm. i am on a deadend block- east 20s and ave I. Will we ever get out of here???
In the last 50 years I can only say we have been in major snow storms before but this one is the worst. Not because it dumped so much snow on the streets of New York, but because there has been absolutely NOT ONE snow plow that came down the blocks of Brooklyn. East 8th Street near Kings Highway is just one block , but I have been walking around the whole neighborhood and every side street is proof that there have been no plows from the NYC Sanitation Dept. Yes they went down Ave P and maybe once or twice down Ave O which is still more or less a one way street since they did not plow the complete width of the Avenue. What is going on?? I know Mr Bloomberg is not going to be able to our Mayor, the fourth time around, but something must be done about this. Brooklyn, NY is right now stuck and we cannot get out of our streets since we are at the mercy of the NYC Dept of Samitation to plow the streets of Flatbush and Boro Park, etc etc
Interestingly though is that Manhattan has been plowed many times over but the outer boroughs such as Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens is still sitting ans waiting until they get unburied.
Bloomberg only cares for the upper east side and west side folks, the rest of us are peasants who ask for too much. We can thank elected officials in the Jewish community and Mike Nelson for telling us to support King Michael.
WHAT A POINTLESS VIDEO.
nowecant’s idea that the sanitation workers are sabotaging the cleanup would explain the two plows that came down my street with the blades up.
