Texas: Anti-Semitic Graffiti on Jewish Temple

hate crimes2.jpg“Disgust.” That was Jay Lack’s one-word response when asked to describe his reaction to the anti-Semitic graffiti scrawled on Temple B’Nai Israel. “All the years I’ve lived in Victoria, this is the first time someone has desecrated the temple,” said Lack, a member of Temple B’Nai Israel, located at 604 N. Main St. Two swastikas and a profane message directed at Jews were spray-painted on the front of the building, and “Heil Hitler” was written on the building porch’s sidewalk. “I do know this is a hate crime,” Victoria Police Sgt Olga Gamez said, I believes it is the first time a house of worship in Victoria has been targeted for hate graffiti, Gamez said.
