The Lakewood Township Airport Authority has announced that they will be finishing a fence being put up around the airfield after the Federal Aviation Administration has given them $343,623, according to this mornings Asbury Park Press.
Bertram Albert, the LTAA’s executive director, said the FAA approached the authority with news that it needed to build a fence in accordance with homeland security rules. LTAA agreed, Albert said, due to recent robberies in aircrafts and unauthorized ATVs on the runway at the airport, located on Cedar Bridge Avenue.

It’s about time they build that fence, I was always scared of a terrorist stealing a plane.
Sheryl, you never heard of anybody climbing over the fence???? for security purposes, a fence is de”fence”less!!!
even if it had barbed wire etc, a would be terrorist if he want to can easily get around it!
what they need is a 24/7 security patrol and surveillance systems – that can possibly help a bit.
The first step in security, I’d think, before even a patrol and surveillance systems, is a fence.
the whole airport has has 3 propeller planes
Zaidy, all you need is one plane! >:(
To frumblogger
now it will be alot harder for terrorist stealing a plane
P.S. Planes actually fly, like you know, in the air and stuff. They can probably fly over a fence, like you know, ummm….
