Love to know their thoughts then and now!
B”H they are alive and well 40 years later.
WOW…
wow. the photographer who took the iconic photo in 1967 lay on his back to capture that perspective. I do not recall where it can be found, but I read a wonderful account of the soldier’s press into the Old City, including the excitement that built on the army radio-phones, and the awe as the soldiers encountered the Kotel for the first time. One described it as encountering something that until that point had existed only in their dreams, and recounted that many soldiers wept openly as they entered the then-small plaza in front of the Kotel.
Do you have their names????
my favorite type of of picture
Who can forget the euphoria in yeshiva and shul when we found out that yidden would now be able to daven at the Kosel? Especially coming on the heels of three days of terrible (false) news coming out of the Middle East! May the Golus HaShechina end completely and quickly!
wow does anyone know if these guys were/are frum?
There is a writeup about them in this week’s English Hamodia.
awesome picture.
It is nice to see that at least two of the three are wearing kippot (I can’t tell about the third).
However, one could ask, what has Klal Yisroel learned over the last 40 years?
potato knish: who cares? is it not enough that they are Jews?
This photo is one of the most moving I’ve ever seen…
