YW posted earlier this morning about missionaries walking the streets on 13th Avenue. We now have the following information regarding missionaries in other areas.
Yeshivaworld has received reports of missionaries which attempted to gain access to the Los Angeles Yeshiva Gedolah yesterday. The man was screaming and waving his hands wildly and was physically thrown out of the building. These types of people have been spotted around the other yeshivas and shuls in Los Angeles as well.
We have also been told that the missionaries have been spotted in the 5 Towns (actually collecting IN the White Shul!), and are now being informed that thousands of people have received a phone call from 888-350-3297. Warn your children!. DO NOT PICK UP THE PHONE. The man sounds like a real Frum Jew, but is a front for Jews for Yoshka. BEWARE!

You wrote in the article: “…thousands of people have received a phone number from 888-350-3297.”
I’m sorry, no offense intended, but do you mean that they “received a phone CALL from 888-350-3297?”
Great catch Reb_Motcha, I would not have been able to sleep tonight.
Thanks yid. You could always try a glazel of varm milk
Shkoyach, Reb Motcha!
Missionaries have been coming once a week knocking on the doors in Fair Lawn, NJ – there is a big Israeli and Russian population here. They look for the mezuzas and knock on those doors. The used to bring a young child with them in order to soften us up. One day I was in front of my house watering the lawn and I told them to leave. I know it was not a very tnius thing to do, but I followed them to all my Jewish neighbor’s homes (we are the only frum family on the block) and I told my neighbors not to listen to these liars. The people told the child that they were only trying to be nice and that I was being rude. I looked square in the child’s eyes and said “they are only being nice because in this country they are not allowed to torture us into conversion. Your people have also learned that being nice is more effective than killing us like they have been for thousands of years.” They still come, but that was the last time they brought the child.
kotel, I would think you did the right thing – especially since you had what to say to oppose their drivel. Why do you say it was not tsnius?
