NYC: Second-grade student brings gun to school

gun.jpgA seven-year-old boy – in a NYC public school second grade class- brought a gun into his Queens classroom yesterday prompting police to arrest his mother. According to media reports, school officials say a classmate at PS 63 in Ozone Park told his teacher the boy was showing off a gun. The teacher asked the boy to give her the unloaded gun and he handed it over. Police were called to the building. The boy’s mother is 35-year-old Andrea Clarke, a city traffic enforcement agent. She was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.

  1. bklynmom…what do you mean ‘What in the world was this mother thinking?’

she is ‘a city traffic enforcement agent’. so of course she has a gum in the house.

    your question should read.

why didn’t this mother take BETTER care of her gun?

  2. “Traffic Enforcement Agent” is that a fancy way to say METERMAID?
Either way, why should a metermaid need a gun in the house? Except perhaps to shoot themselves, after getting bored of a career of abusing other people such as waiting a 7:59 to give tickets the second it turns 8:00 and you see the guy coming…and anyone who’l lived in BP or Flatbush could testify to their well earned reputation.

  3. No.

    Not a meter-maid. A Traffic Enforcement Agent.

Go find out the difference before you come here and publicly make a fool of yourself.

  4. Actually “Fact Finder”, its a little hard to make a fool out of yourself in a public forum.

Secondly, notice the question mark. Thirdly, I may have been expressing myself regarding metermaids specifically, however ALL of what I said applies equally to all of NYC traffic enforcement regardless of rank. There is a difference between public saftey etc. and harassment. Fourthly, instead of mouthing off like that, you simply could share the knowledge you claim to have in a mature fashion. Think about it Fact Finder, you’ll feel even better.

  5. This woman is/was a school crossing guard. Neither they, nor “meter maids” carry guns. If you’d have read the whole report, you’d know that her illustrious crimnal boyfriend gave the gun to her teenage son to take to school.Instead, the 2nd grader did that. Great role models, wonderful family!!

  6. How about the kindergarten student who just a few years ago brought drugs to his school? I am not surprised.
