Belarus: Iranian Hitler lays flowers at WWII memorial

achmadinijad.jpgThe Jewish community in Belarus has sharply criticized this week’s surprise visit in the country by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Yakov Basin, deputy head of the Union of Jewish Associations of Belarus said he was “strongly opposed” to the Iranian two-day visit which was at the invitation of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

“It’s shameful to talk with a man who today plays the role of a modern Hitler,” he added.

Lukashenko has already visited Iran twice, in 2001 and 2006, but has not visited any EU country recently. The EU has introduced a travel ban on Lukashenko and other top Belarussian officials for quashing independent political parties, arresting opposition leaders and muzzling the media.

On Tuesday, Lukashenko heaped praise on his Iranian counterpart, rejecting claims that their two-day meeting was one of “outcast” states.

At a breakfast meeting, the Belarussian leader defended the two country’s found friendship in the face of criticism by democracy activists and others that it is a ploy to overcome international isolation.

On Monday Ahmadinejad laid flowers at a memorial to victims of World War II but avoided referring to the Holocaust.

Local Jewish groups estimate that as many as 800,000 Jews were killed on the present-day territory of Belarus during WWII.

  1. That’s a very interesting political maneuver on Ahmadinejad’s part.

Again, for all the rhetoric about him, he has stated only the STATE of Israel is a mistake and has to be removed from the map. He did not call, or imply, for the elimination of all the Israelis from the map.

I still do not know what the basis for calling him a Hitler is. Even if the misquote were accurate, he hasn’t called for the elimination of all Jews (the Final Solution to the Jewish problem), as Hitler did. He mentioned Israel, only, and, in all fairness, Israel had no problem destroying many Lebanese during its most recent “war” in “Southern-Lebanon”.

In case anyone is wondering, BTW, it was early Zionists (beloved protectors of their “fellow” Jews) who claimed that Jews were too different and could not be loyal Germans, and it was the Nazis who simply, with Zionist blessing, copied that perfidious Zionist lie (one of many, many perfidious Zionist lies and activities) and, of course, realized their “Jewish Problem”. 2. Lipa, we’re not even related and you don’t have to apologize, but I think that resorting to name-calling (Ahmadinejad a Hitler) when the “proof” for such a name is a stretch, at best, is very unprofessional and brings YW to kindergarten-land.

  3. the man want’s to kill americans, and Isreal, and the JEWS,
Don;t come and say he only wants the zionist,

    hitler also said that,

  4. i dont know what the problem with this ahmenajad (sp??) guy. he says the same thing as mahmoud abbas, the “beloved” leader of fatah and the plo (remember, his doctorate from moscow university is in holovcaust denial.) but everyone “forgot” about that, now that we have ahmenajad and hamas.

but i still vehemently disagree with hakatan; he is misquoting whatever chaim weitzman letters he seems to be quoting.

  5. HaKatan and other small ones like him:

    understand the non-Jew code:
    anti-Israel = anti-Jew
    anti-Israeli = anti-Jew
    anti-zionist entity = anti-Jew
    anti-zionist = anti-Jew

essentially, the non-Jew hater of Israel, Israelis, zionist-entity or zionist defines any of these terms as Jew.

…so when they say I’m anti-____(pick one of the above), I’m not anti-Jew, they are LYING!
