  1. It is disappointing that the Rosh Yeshiva would waste a minute of his time to speak to the self hating jews and garbage on the New York Times staff. THat paper, may it disintegrate into ash, would not hold back to take a pop shot at frum yidden. They wasted no ink stating how the community in Waterbury looks at the yeshiva as a collection of strange people who “bother” the locals. No yeshiva or mosed should ever talk to a staff member of the NY Times.

  2. Nonkollelman, not really sure what your problem is, this seems to be a very posotive article about the Yeshiva of Waterberry.

  3. Nonkollelman, right, no frum person should ever talk to the NY Times – they should only hear about us from the other side!!!!!

  4. NONKOLLELMAN
You are 100% right, but it would be contrary to what Waterbury stands for to refuse an opportunuty to get publicity.
    V’hamaven Yavin!!

  5. why are we all trying to find the negetive in every situation- fact is that the article was in the ny times – dont delve so deep into it – isnt it better to have such an article reflecting the jews than headlines like -“Hasidic Jew with 10 years prison” or the like……….. just take it or leave it – stop asking kasha oif a maisa! thanks

  6. non-frum folks read the times. this was really a positive article. it is amazing that just breaking down the ignorance about frum Jews is often a HUGE step to bringing people closer to their own Yiddishkeit.

    Believe me, I know.

  7. I am one who doesn’t particularly go joyful when i read an article in the new york times but this one is about a great group of growing people in great growing community. May they only see much bracha and hatzlacha on Hillside and in Blue Ridge. 🙂

  8. I am a resident of Waterbury, and all I can say is that the article made a huge kiddush Hashem. Being that we are living in a town with many other people besides frum jews, lots of people with whom we in Waterbury are in contact with every day read that article. The local friendly police officer, the nice mailman, Mar Vic dry cleaning workers, The not frum elderly people from the community, Alan the custodian… All of those people read positive things about the Frum community in waterbury, and the same way when a Yid does something negative chas v’shalom, a negative stereotype gets set for all Jews, when Yidden do something positive, it gives the generalization that all Jews are good. It was a big kiddush Hashem that the community and Jews at large are looked at as a positive aspect, as worldly, and they are held in a higher regard. I understand all of those people who don’t hold ofthe New York Times, and true, it probably isn’t one of the best reading materials out there, but it’s there, and as people said. I would rather see in the New York Times that Jews are doing good things and that the community is flourishing, than JEWISH MAN EVADES TAXES!! … Something is going to be in there anyway…. it might as well be positive.
