For the second time in two days, a person was struck and killed by a train in NY. Today’s incident occurred at Mulberry Street & Bleecker Street; Power to the #1 line (on the #6 track) was shut down between Spring Street and 14th Street, and the victim was declared DOA.

There was no train service today for many hours on the Lexington Ave. IRT trains. Let’s pray it was not a Jew. But, the Transit Authority is getting irresponsible. This I think the fourth death in two weeks? Either they are a bunch of klutzes or they are drunk when they go to work.
I don’t know how people actually work down there? Ever see those rats cruising around?

“or they are drunk when they go to work”- what do you think a train driver can do if he sees a person on the rail tracks…he cant just jam the breaks…
noitallmr, you are a wonderful person but perhaps you have not have had the privilege of riding up front with the motorman. They have air brakes and an emergency brake! And the motormen do come to work drunk! About a decade ago there was a horrifying fatal accident right by the Union Square subway tracks. The train rammed into the platform killing a few people! And the motorman was drunk. Nuff Said!!
If thats so I take back my prvious comment…
