Pesach is over, and most people have stopped eating foods which are Kosher for Pesach. But according to a report in today’s Journal News, one group of people – many of whom are not Jewish – look forward all year to buying Pesach food and are still stocking up on supplies to last them long after Pesach ends.
Many kosher-for-Pesach foods are made without wheat, rye, barley or other grains that contain gluten. People with celiac disease, a digestive illness that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food, cannot eat any food containing gluten, which triggers an autoimmune reaction that damages the intestinal system.
The estimated 2 million people nationwide with the disorder have to scrutinize food labels year-round to make sure the products they buy do not contain gluten.
Their task becomes easier around Pesach, when many foods not easily available the rest of the year are made gluten-free for people who observe the holiday.

Perhaps the suppliers could distribute this food during the year for these unfortunate people.
The factories that are only open for Pesach should see if there is a way to remain open all year to produce gluten free products using only Pesachdige ingredients. This would provide a service to those who need the products for health reasons, and it might also keep prices down for us during Pesach because volumes would be higher.
It would possibly lower the cost of some of these goods come next Pesach if they were able to spread some more of their costs through out the year.
it would be great if these people had a better supply of gluten…etc free food and it would be great if costs for pesach would go down as a result of it! 😉

To Simple – It’s very simple. Kosher Le Pesach Coca Cola looks no different (except the yellow cap) and doesn’t cost any more. They’re buying it has nothing to do with Pesach. (What’s with your name?)
re: coke – it has to do with sugar, not corn syrup
malkyt – Acctually, you are right it is simple, however, the non-jews who are buying up the kosher l’pesach coke, are acctually doing it on purpose. Some people like the tase of the klp vs. the kitnuis one.
Except for the fizzyness, I like klp better than the regular.
