Following the letter sent to Rabbi Yigal Levinstein by Defense Minister Avigdor demanding he resign from the yeshiva and apologize of have Bnei David forfeit its government recognition, MK Elazar Stern takes it a step further.
Stern has introduced a bill that would prohibit rabbonim from speaking out against the induction of women into the IDF. Those who dare to speak out would face financial sanctions, referring to rabbonim and roshei yeshiva.
Stern feels it should be absolutely forbidden for rabbonim in institutions receiving government funding to speak out against the IDF policy of integrating women into combat units, and those who do must pay the price, literally.
