The Rent Guidelines Board will meet Wednesday night in Cooper Union for a preliminary vote on rent increases.
There is no word yet on what the proposed increases will be, because the board will determine the planned hikes at the meeting.
Members will look at how much costs rose this year and then vote.
Any increase would go into effect on October 1.
Last year, following a heated public debate, the board voted 5-4 to approve a three percent increase for one year leases and up to a six percent increase on two-year leases.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
Because it is only a preliminary vote, there will be no public testimony.
