Talk about a close call!
Emirates flight to Dubai carrying suspected Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad had already left the gate and begun to taxi for takeoff at JFK when the control tower instructed the pilot to return to the gate immediately.
“I have a message for you to go back to the gate immediately so make the left turn when able” . “I don’t know exactly why but you can call your company for the reason.”

Not such a close call; even if the plane had taken off, the authorities could have ordered it to return and land.
Norman Rosenbaum (Yankel HYD’s brother), when he worked for the Australian Tax Office, once found out that someone he was looking for was on a plane already halfway to Malaysia. He got on the phone to the airline and told them that if the plane didn’t turn around, land in Australian territory, and allow this passenger to be removed, their landing rights would be terminated everywhere in Australia; it worked.
Wasn’t this guy already on the “watch list?” How’d he get past security to begin with?
#2: That’s the whole point. He WASN’T on the watch list. But they got him anyway, just in time.
That’s how Hashgachah Pratis works!
