UJO Works With USPS To Open Williamsburg Post Office For Walk-In Passport Processing Tomorrow

As many in the Brooklyn Jewish community are preparing for holiday travel abroad, the United Jewish Organizations of Williamsburg (UJO) is working with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to ensure that those wanting to travel outside the U.S. can obtain their passports in a timely manner. Many Post Offices in Brooklyn no longer see clients on a walk in basis for passport processing and only process passports by appointment which can take weeks to secure.

For one day only, to accommodate the increased community need, the USPS will process passport applications without an appointment at the Williamsburg Post Office.

Where: Williamsburg Post Office
263 South 4th Street
Brooklyn, NY 11211

When: Tuesday, April 27, 2010
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The President of the UJO, Rabbi David Niederman, said “We are grateful to the management at the USPS in Brooklyn and the Williamsburg Post Office, for responding to the community’s concerns about passport processing availability. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the USPS to ensure the needs of the community are met during peak travel times.”

Please note to expedite processing of a brand new passport, even when using a courier service, a visit to the Post Office is required.

For additional information and to expedite your time at the Post Office, passport applications can be obtained at www.travel.state.gov
