The following is a WPIX exclusive: It appears that some local 7-11’s have better video surveillance equipment than one of the top terrorist targets in the world — the Lincoln Tunnel.
Port Authority police sources tell PIX News, the mile and a half long tunnel only has video surveillance at the toll gates and doesn’t pick up again until the light at the end of the tunnel.
On a daily basis, some 120-thousand vehicles jam through the span that tunnels underneath the Hudson River from New Jersey to New York.
The video command center is a small room, with one employee surrounded by about 15 different monitors.
However, in addition to watching the monitors, the job requires the employee to do other things, which often takes attention away from the myriad of televisions.
Finally, sources tell PIX News. the Lincoln Tunnel cameras don’t record continuously. They only work, if the spotter, is lucky enough to catch something on the screen. The employee than has to hustle to the machine and record it by pushing the play and record buttons.

Why do people think freedom of speech means telling the enemy where your weaknesses are?
And WPIX feels that informing the terrorists of this is less important than their ratings!
WPIX is going to look foolish, The Port Authority has cameras all through out the tunnel. Ever wonder how they know when someone crosses over the double yellow lines? They don’t catch the guys by using a psychic.
Does PIX or any other broadcasts ever play on any of those TV monitors?
I think what is needed is to raise the tolls to cover the expense of working cameras.

The responsible thing to do would have been for PIX to report their findings to the authorities and tell them that if the situation is not remedied, they WILL air the story at close future date.
the cops sitting at the foot of the bridges a tunnels are a big fat joke too!
#7 That has proven not to work, look about the investigation now about the false stastistics of the crime rate in New York City people where telling the authority about it for years until the media ran a story about it.
Why don’t they do something about it now that this information is open to the public a.k.a. terrorists?
