There is a high wind warning in effect until 11 a.m. in New York and New Jersey.

The heavy wind was making the commute difficult Thursday morning and left many without power.

About 14,000 customers were without power in New Jersey. There were many trees and wires down across the state.

Northeast Corridor is subject to 20-minute delays in both directions due to debris on the overhead wires as a result of the wind.

LaGuardia airport travelers were experiencing nearly 2-hour delays.
