At least five firefighters were injured in a fire at a private residence in downtown Brooklyn.
Fire officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening.
Two of the firefighters were taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious but stable condition, while three others were taken to Cornell Medical Center with minor burns.
The two-alarm fire at 192 Concord St. started around 4:30 a.m. Thursday and was described as heavy.
A number of homes on Concord Street were evacuated. Residents could be seen standing out on the sidewalk as firefighters battled the blaze.

Today’s NY Daily News reports that there may be severe cuts in the FDNY….Insanity Insanity Insanity. Plenty of state and city money wasted always…. how dare this be allowed to happen. This is not a black issue or a white issue or a relgious issue…all NYC residents will be affected by these FDNY cuts and our so called leaders need to be ready and able to rise to the occassion of finding the funding that will stop this insanity.
