During the morning hours the news spread of the petira of The Maggid, HaRav Bentzion kalmarsky ZT”L, after a difficult illness. The niftar, who was 42, was admitted to Maynei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak.

The niftar became known through his program on Kol Chai Radio, working to bring people back to the fold, to increase adherence to Torah and Mitzvos, to awaken and do tshuva. He earned the name Rav Bentzion the Maggid, named after his grandfather, Rav Bentzion the Maggid Yadler ZT”L.

The illness was detected a number of months ago and despite his efforts to combat it and remain strong, today, 10 Adar, he returned his young soul to his Creator. A minyan of talmidim was at his side reciting Shema at the time.

The levaya began at his home on Yehuda HaNasi Street in Modi’in Illit at 11:15 on Wednesday morning. The procession made its way to Shamgar Funeral Chapel in Yerushalayim at 2:00pm, followed by kvura in Har Menuchos.
