NYPD Recovers Stolen Jewels In Deadly Robbery Which Killed Elderly Syrian Jewish Man

Detectives with the NYPD announced Wednesday a possible break in the case of last month’s deadly jewelry store robbery on the Upper East Side.

Investigators say they have recovered some of the precious stones stolen from Durant Jewelers on 76th Street and Madison Avenue.

They also say they are talking to a person in connection with the case, but stopped short of calling that person a suspect.

Investigators say a gunman walked into the store two weeks ago and stole a million dollars worth of jewels.

Henry Menahem Z”L, 71, was working inside the store when he was shot and killed by the suspect.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
