Baltimore, MD – Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake banned travel on city streets. It’s considered Phase 3 of the snow emergency plan.
Only emergency vehicles, authorized snow plows and power crews are allowed on city streets.
Right now white out conditions are making it extremely dangerous for any travel.
A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 7pm tonight. Expect areas of blowing snow with winds out of the northwest at up to 35 miles per hour.
Wind gusts could reach 55 miles per hour, and another 3-5 inches of snow is expected.
UPDATE: Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Fire Chief James Clack are now ordering emergency personnel en route to hospitals to stay home while Phase III is in effect.
Hospitals should be prepared to keep all staff in place until further notice.
In the case of emergency, please call 9-1-1. Citizens who lose power are asked to call BGE to report power outages and icy trees near power lines .
