Munich – The lawyer of Nazi concentration camp guard John Demjanjuk repeated demands on Tuesday that the trial should be postponed for an indefinite period, as the case resumed in Munich.
Defence lawyer Ulrich Busch also demanded that the numerous joint prosecutors and their lawyers should be excluded from the trial.
Busch called for additional documents to be considered in the hearings, referring to files located in the US, Israel, Poland, Ukraine the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan and the Baltic states.
Demjanjuk, 89, was wheeled into the courtroom in a bed. He followed proceedings lying down and covered with a blanket.
Presiding judge Ralph Alt was hostile to the new demands, adding that the court had specifically approved the presence of the joint prosecutors.
‘It is not clear to me, how I should revoke that,’ Alt said.
Ukrainian-born Demjanjuk is alleged to have worked at Sobibor concentration camp in German-occupied Poland in 1943, after the Nazis offered to free him from a camp for Soviet prisoners of war if he would work as a uniformed guard for the SS.
The joint defendants are a group of Dutch Jewish survivors of World War II, whose relatives were murdered in Sobibor.
A total of 35 days are currently scheduled for the trial, which can only run for two 90-minute sessions each day due to the state of Demjanjuk’s health.

DID HE HAVE MERCY ON THE PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF YIDDEN THAT HE PERSONALLY SENT TO DEATH. OUR GRANDPARENTS DIDNT ONLY HAVE TO DO BACK BREAKING LABOR FOR 90 MINUTES A DAY DUE TO THEIR HEALTH!!!!!!!! AT LEAST THEY ARE TRYING HIM IN GERMANY AND NOT IN LIBERAL AMERICA. HERE, THEY PROBABLY WOULD JUST LET HIM GO. MR DEMJANJUK, I HOPE YOU LIVE MANY MANY MORE YEARS SO YOU CAN SUFFER FOR ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING YOU HAVE CAUSED TO YIDDEN ALL OVER THE WORLD UNTIL THIS DAY. HAKADOSH BARUCH HU WILL THEN PUT YOU EXACTLY WHERE YOU BELONG. HY”D
