Mayor Michael Bloomberg may have won a third term, but he reportedly isn’t going to party much on inauguration day.
According to the New York Post, the mayor is not holding a reception after his New Years Day swearing-in ceremony.
Receptions in past years attracted thousands.
This year, a source tells the paper the mayor will instead tour the city and take part in volunteer activities.
The mayor will reportedly stuff care packages at Staten Island Borough Hall to ship to troops overseas.
Bloomberg spent more than $102 million on his bid for a third term against current city comptroller Bill Thompson.
The other two citywide officials — Public Advocate-elect Bill DeBlasio and Comptroller-elect John Liu — are both planning their own receptions.
