Generously donated by Mehadrin Kosher Poultry and coordinated by Met Council and the Boro Park JCC, this distribution will help many needy families celebrate a joyous Chanukah. All Mehadrin Kosher Poultry products are of the highest quality and have CRC and OU kosher certification, making them ideal for the Borough Park Jewish community.
In attendance at the distribution were State Senator Carl Kruger, President of Mehadrin Kosher Poultry Solomon Wieder, CEO of Met Council William Rapfogel and Rabbi Yechiel Kaufman, executive director of the Boro Park JCC. Representatives from Congressman Jerrold Nadler’s office and Councilman Simcha Felder’s office attended as well.
Solomon Wieder, president of Mehadrin Kosher Poultry, said, “As a company that services the Borough Park community, we are proud to have had this opportunity to give back. The fact that such significant poundage of chicken was distributed in just a few minutes highlights the tremendous need, and we hope to branch out and do more to help. We were warmed by the way Met Council and UJA-Federation and the Boro Park JCC all worked together to distribute the poultry.”
William E. Rapfogel, CEO and executive director of Met Council, commented, “Once again, an outstanding company has stepped up to the plate to donate much-needed kosher poultry to people in need. High-quality, kosher poultry and meat is always the most expensive, and difficult, food item to provide, and we are grateful to Mehadrin Kosher Poultry for their generous gift.”
Rabbi Yechiel Kaufman, executive director of the Boro Park JCC, said, “There are many families in our community who cannot afford to have chicken during the week, and during the holiday of Chanukah they feel this lack most painfully. We are very grateful to Mehadrin Kosher Poultry for helping to bring joy to these families in need.”
