PHOTO LINK BELOW: Over eighty representatives from major Kashrus Agencies attended the AKO Conference in New York City Thursday.

The AKO (Association of Kashrus Organizations) is an umbrella group for many Kashrus agencies that serves as a medium where they can discuss the numerous situations that arise in the kashrus industry and to construct basic guidelines for mutually acceptable standards.

Besides the great importance of the event, it was somewhat historical since the gathering was addressed by both Chief Rabbis of Israel – (Rabbi Metzger, and Rabbi Shlomo Amar) which is a first to have them both speak in the USA at the same function.
