The motzei shabbos 1:00am flight from Tel Aviv to NYC is generally a flight used by chareidim heading to abroad for a week’s work. Last night’s flight was no exception, but there were three special passengers on board as well, the Gerrer Rebbe Shlita, Toldos Aaron Rebbe Shlita and his brother, the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe Shlita, all on a mission, seeking funds for their respective mosdos.
As was reported by YWN Israel last week, the Gerrer Rebbe will spend the week in N. America after which he heads to Italy for a large fundraising dinner. The Rebbe’s gabbai has yet to announce where the Rebbe will be this coming shabbos, Lech Lecha.
The Toldos Aaron Rebbe will be spending a number of weeks in the United States, expected to hold a tisch every shabbos. He is also expected to attend a number of events in the hope of raising funds towards completing the chassidus’ new beis medresh in Meah Shearim. The Rebbe will be spending this upcoming shabbos, Lech Lecha, in Monsey.
The Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe is also seeking to raise funds to support his ailing mosdos, some reportedly on the verge of collapse. This upcoming shabbos, Lech Lecha, the Rebbe will hold a tisch in Boro Park.
Additionally, the Pshevarsk-Atwerp Rebbe Shlita this coming shabbos will hold a tisch in Williamsburg in honor of his son’s upcoming chasnah, and Rav Yisrael Hager, the son of the Viznitzer Rebbe Shlita of Bnei Brak – who runs Vishnitz institutions – will be spending this upcoming shabbos in Flatbush at the home of the noted Askan R’ Shlomo Kassai and will conduct Tish in Flatbush.
There is much speculation if the Admorim are going to meet on the plane en route to America.

“There is much speculation if the Admorim are going to meet on the plane en route to America” Well, how big is First Class already. Why do you think they might not “meet”?
“MAJOR Rebbes!?!” What in the world classifies a Rebbe as “MAJOR”?
Do you mean to imply that if a Rebbe has less Chasidim, for whatever reason, that makes him a “Minor Rebbe”, and only if he has more Chasidim he becomes Major?
Who are you to judge?!?
To #2: You are Correct. “Major” Rebbe’s DOES mean, in this case, a Rebbe that has many Chassidim.
(It also doesn’t mean that a Rebbe with just a few followers is not a Rebbe)
#5 your 3) [got a laugh out of me] If they do their Tish in an airplane, would that be a Tish Above?
It may be interesting to note that the Toldos Avraham Yitzchok Rebbe will land this afternoon while the Gerrer Rebbe and Toldos Aharon Rebbe already landed this morning. – SO MUCH FOR THREE MAJOR REBBES ON THE SAME FLIGHT.
I always found the idea of taking a flight on Motzoei Shabbos puzzling. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Problem:
Planes before take off need a lot of time consuming preparation. These preparations on EL AL, it stands to reason, are in some measure done by some Yid who is being mchalel Shabbos. So what is the heter for going on one of these flights?
The fact that the 3 rebbes are coming to USA the same week doesn’t mean they fly the same plane, the toldos aharon rebbe was flying continental.
i think they are definitly “chareidim heading to abroad for a week’s work”
May we be zoiche to always be the benefactors of Tzedakos. The Satmar Rebbe, Rav Yoel zatza”l used to say about the different Krios in America and Eretz Yisroel on Shmini Atzeres. Said he, “When in America we lain Assair T’assair then in Eretz Yiroel is V’zos Ha’bracha. May we merit being able to give and give and give and thus bring forth the Ge’ula.
i also think that harav reb Aharon my big brothe the rov of Narol B”B, the 1 who wos zocher to b meshamish n have shemish from my graet zader the Narloer Rov Zt@l was as well on this flyt.
To #13 –
Cute. Leave it up to Hagaon R’ Yoilish ZTL to come up w/ a clever vort.
Ah – what he would say to the Matzav today.
Wait a minute. If he were alive today, we wouldn’t have today’s Matzav.
The gedoilim of yesteryear.
Oy lonu kee chotonu.
# 2 and # 4
If the meaning of “major Rebbe” means a lot of Chassidim, then there was only 1 “major Rebbe” on that flight.
