150 Rishon L’Tzion municipality inspectors have joined Magen David Adom’s “Life Guardians” program. They recently completed their course and will not be dispatched to CPR and calls and other life and death situations via their smart phone app which identifies on-call responders in the area via GPS.
MDA reports thousands of Israelis with different levels of medical training have already joined the program to permit an immediate response to life and death calls such as persons in cardiac arrest.
Magen David Adom’s new “Life Guardians” program relies on Israelis nationwide to respond to an emergency in their area until EMS units arrive on the since. The EMS organization explains that anyone with first aid training can become a part of this.
Anyone interested in being a part of this new initiative is urged to call *6210 on Sunday-Thursday between 07:00-23:00 and on from Fridays from 07:00-14:00. Those approved to join the program will use a smartphone application and will be alerted to medical emergencies in their area.
