Edison NJ Hit With Second Anti-Semitic Crime In 2 Weeks


ess.jpgThe Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators of the anti-Semitic vandalism of a synagogue in Edison, New Jersey, which was discovered this morning. Congregation Beth-El was defaced with several large painted swastikas covering its front doors and windows.

Etzion Neuer, Director of ADL’s New Jersey Office, issued the following statement:

“The Anti-Defamation League shares Congregation Beth-El’s shock and indignation over this despicable act, which occurred only hours following Yom Kippur, the most solemn day of the Jewish calendar.

The incident comes nine days after a yeshiva student in Edison was assaulted after being taunted with anti-Semitic slurs [as reported by YWN].

We know that the Edison Police Department and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office will conduct a thorough bias crime investigation and we urge anyone with information relevant to the case to contact the contact the Edison Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (732) 248-7540.”

ADL is working closely with local law enforcement and community members.

  1. I think we have to go ask Rabbanim about all these Tzaaros that are happening to our community… We’ve gone through so much these past few weeks. It’s too scary. Hashem should have Rachmanus on us and on all of Klal Yisrael. He should see all the chessed our community and the rest of Bnei Yisrael do, and put a stop to our pain and suffering and bring Moshiach!

  2. There were actually 3 anti-semitic incidents in Edison over the Yamim Noraim. A car drove down the main strip screaming Heil Hitler at ppl. walking home from shul Kol Nidrei night.
