Obama Thanks The NYPD For Thwarting Terror Plot

nypd3.jpgPresident Obama thinks they’re the finest, too.

The President congratulated the NYPD Saturday afternoon for its role in thwarting the terror plot that targeted the city’s subway system, police said.

During a briefing on the Najibullah Zazi case, the Al Qaeda operative who planned to detonate homemade bombs around the 9/11 anniversary, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly received a phone call from the President.

Obama expressed his “appreciation and admiration” for the NYPD’s effort in stopping the attack, sources said.

The President also thanked Kelly and the department for providing security last week at the UN General Assembly.

  1. I work a block away from the United Nations and I must publicly thank the NYPD and Secret Service for doing the most amazing job in securing the entire city last week.

Considering the magnitude of how many people that had to be protected and with each one bringing 500 cronies with them and having to make sure the city still moves along considering all the road closures, the NYPD did an amazing flawless job.

The funniest moment I had was thanking a uniformed secret service agent for doing a fine job and he goes on to tell me, “NO, thank the NYPD and community affairs department who work hand in hand and without their assistance this would not be possible!”

I asked this agent where he was from and he said the west coast and also stated it was his first time in New York City!
