Qaddafi’s Tent on Trump’s Lawn?

gadhafi2.jpgMoammar Qaddafi’s arrival in our area for the U.N. General Assembly is causing much controversy.

After being barred from Englewood, N.J., it looks like the Libyan dictator is putting down stakes in Westchester County — on property owned by none other than Donald Trump.

The State Department said Tuesday a tent has been built on a Bedford estate — that Qaddafi may use for entertaining. Many residents were outraged.

The massive tent is equipped with four satellite dishes and Persian decor. It overlooks an adorned fountain on a massive estate of a multi-million dollar home.

There was no answer at the intercom to the entrance of the 113 Silver Springs Estate.

In a statement, Trump spokesperson Rhonna Graff told CBS 2 HD: “We have business partners and associates all over the world. The property was leased on a short-term basis to Middle Eastern partners who may or may not have a relationship with Mr. Qaddafi.”

Qaddafi had wanted to pitch a tent in Englewood, N.J., but was turned down. A request to use Central Park for a tent was denied. He is apparently no more welcome in suburban Westchester County.

In White Plains, County Executive Andrew Spano issued a statement saying Qadhafi wasn’t welcome, but that the county can’t stop him.

Sources told CBS 2 HD that despite the tent in Bedford, Qaddafi is expected to stay at a hotel in New York City.

  1. Trump is a Casino owner and has entertained,be assured, many an arab despot in his time.To him it has always been about money, never a political statement. So what ,praytell, is new now? It is just unfortunate that he has not learned it is NOT always about business, considering his daughter, Ivanka, is converting to Judaism to marry Jared Kushner, building magnate..

  2. Trump has never and never will have any moral values. Its all about “himself”. Its not for no reason that he’s currently married to his seventh wife!!
