President Obama was halfway through his speech, trying to dispel what he called “bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform.” Then he ran into Rep. Joe Wilson’s agenda for the night.
His plan would not insure illegal immigrants, said Obama. “You lie!” rang out in the chamber.
Federal funds would not pay for abortions, Obama continued. “Not true!” came another yell from the same spot in the chamber. Vice President Biden frowned. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi glared.
The hollerer was Wilson, a four-term Republican from South Carolina and former aide to the late Sen. Strom Thurmond. A lawyer with four sons who have served in the military, two in Iraq, Wilson has long aspired to statewide office. “I think Joe’s very confrontational,” said House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn. Wilson held his first health-care town hall forum last month in Clyburn’s district, three blocks from his home.
Wilson’s outburst drew a rebuke from Obama’s 2008 presidential opponent. “Totally disrespectful. No place for it, and he should apologize,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). Various House Democrats demanded the same. One sputtered that House rules may have been violated.
Later, Wilson apologized. But his verbal explosion had hit its mark and dominated post-speech TV debate.
Just 48 hours earlier, Obama had exhorted a labor union crowd: “It just goes to show you how one voice can change a room.”
But he didn’t mean to inspire Joe Wilson.

The illegal immigrants get better health already than we taxpaying Americans do! My pregnant Mexican cleaning girl has weekly appointments at the clinic. Now in her eighth month they are taking sonograms EVERY WEEK!!! They are not sure of her due date, so they have to make sure to stay on top of it all!!! When that baby is born -it is as legal as any of us and entitled legally to all the programs – parents will receive welfare and everything for it!!!! Maybe we should all become illegal!!! Liberal Democrats. ( I am a registerd democrat, who votes republican)

RBG – did you ask the cleaning girl if she plans to temporarily return to Mexico to have her baby? That way, the baby can be an illegal alien too. If the illegals really have it better than us, and assuming a mother wants the very best for her child, why don’t you advise her to do this in her child’s interest?
On another note, I’m assuming that if your cleaning help is illegal then you are not reporting and paying taxes on your employee properly. You are breaking the laws of the same country that she is.

If she has a green card, or was born in the US, she is a Mexican American (and no more a “Mexican” than you are a Pole or a Ukranian or wherever you came from – if you are an Iroquois Ger I apologize), and if you pay her so little that she is eligible for Medicaid (shame on you), she is entitled to it . If you were poor and pregnant, you would get the same serive.

as well it would be a fair question if one is required to respect the person who occupies the presidency if indeed he lies in public with impunity after all even if the country is backward enough not to throw him out that doesn’t give him legitimacy and it’s the office we respect not the person so perhaps it’s a greate direspect to ignore it’s abuse then to let it go think about that (and yes of course it’s debateable if this really was such a lie … fine i’m just making a point)
I should also point out that the congressman wilson is on two committees dealing with healthcare to the illegals. He was interviewed today and he said the vote was along party lines where the Dems voted to keep it IN the bill and the Republicans voted to take it out of the bill. If anything yelling out was a British thing to do but he WAS 100% CORRECT THAT OBAMA WAS A LIAR!!
