Works out well, since Landau’s shul which is just about 2 blocks away has a yom kippur minyan at 6:45.
This way, we can get the best of both worlds – prepare for Elul and the yomim ha’noraim ha’baim aleinu letova, and also chap arein the olam ha’zeh which Pomegranate has to offer.
I’m really happy for them, great store, I do my shopping there every week, suburb customer service, the whole Pom family -as they call themselves- always with smile & ready to help, great prices [actually cheaper from the store I came from]lots of specials, huge variety, I’m so happy that Pomegranate really worked out as a major success, as no body had imagined before, and I specially want to wish Mr. Banda Lots of a hatzlucha & he should be able to continue with his great deeds & tzedukas
glatta_kup, you can make your olam ha’zeh into olam ha’ba when you buy things for Shabbas or Yom Tov. This way you are being me’kayim “zechor es yom haShabbos”.
Was there 2day (don’t worry not 1st time at all) i love the shopping experience every time i go there and i’m not local to them but it’s worth the trip from anywhere and everywhere. prices are like my local stores but massive range of everything. Congratulations Pomegranate on your 1st anniversary your a superb store and wonderful staff, may you have Hatzlocho in the future. A happy non local shopper.
I haven’t shopped @ the pomegranate because I live in boro park not in flatbush but I was there once when it opened up last year & I was so impressed, its a magnificent store. Thanks to chaimy who put all his major effort into this store before it was open & even now. The store should have lots of hatzlocha in the future
This article is correctly labeled “Paid Advertisement”. These comments should be similarly labeled. POMEGRANATE is a kosher Wal-Mart, so to speak, that will drive smaller markets owned by families out of business. “Hatzlocho” indeed.
I’ve been in there a couple of times, but I prefer the prices at KRM, Moishes and Friedmans. I don’t think they’ll drive anyone out of business unless the reduce their prices. In this economy I can live without aged steak, Italian cheese and herring in mustard sauce.
I live in Flatbush, pass this store all the time, and havent yet stepped foot in there. as locknload says – it hurts me to see all the smaller stores go out of business because someone had alot of money and decided to open this megasupermarket. in addition, who needs such gashmius? and thirdly, we are in Golus, let’s lay low. I wish all of klal yisroel hatzlocho and we should all be supporting everyone with our business. i was very happy shopping in Mountain Fruit and still am.
to #7 and #8:
Understand one thing: small stores go out of business due to their own inneficiencies, i.e., inability to compete in prices and worse customer service (bederech klal).
Noone is forced to go to a larger business. The customers go because they provide a better value.
If you have a small business, then start working into growing it and provide good service, then you won’t have to kvetch when someone who did his homework attracts more customers than you.
